Next Chevrolet Corvette Could Get Twin-Turbo V6

For many years, lurking beneath the Corvette’s long hood there has been a ferocious V8 powerplant. However, with many automakers focusing more and more on ways of curbing weight and boosting MPG, the next Chevy Corvettemay include a twin-turbocharged V6 engine instead.
The folks at Autoweek have reported that Chevrolet is considering downsizing the ‘Vette’s engine when the next generation arrives. The automaker is also reportedly trying to get the new model ready in time for its 60th anniversary, which would be the 2013 model year.
Rumors concerning a smaller engine for the Corvette certainly aren’t new, but with these rumors continuing to surface, it seems like a distinct possibility more and more.
